Sabbatical to finish DCom
• Provided empirical evidence and closed literature gap on air services liberalisation in the South African – African context. • Created a conceptual framework of factors, viewed by the experts as having an impact on air passenger traffic flows. • Expanded the cross-sectional 2005 QUASAR database, pertaining to the South African – intra-African bilaterals, by incorporating panel data of eleven years. • Created a new methodology to test the simultaneous impact of six key predictors on air passenger traffic flows over an eleven year time period. • Offered new insights on how passenger traffic flows relate to changes in key predictors, one of which is the aviation policy.
